Installation to Flash

Installation with DMM-Software (Serial cable) You need: - a serial cable RS 232 - a recent Gemini-Image (to be found at the Database) - the updatesoftware DreamUp (NOT DreamUpLan!) Further instructions and the software can be found here. Installation with Flashwizzard This method doesn't work for the DM 5600 due to the missing LAN-port and is only for th 5620/Triax. You need: - a LAN-Cable (possibly a Cross-over-cable für eine PC-Dreambox Direktverbindung) - a recent Gemini-image (to be found at the Database) - the software Flashwizzard (to be found at the Database) As soon as you have the required software, connect the Dreabox with your PC and start Flashwizzard. Then click on the icon "configuration and utilities" and ensure that your network settings are proper. Then click on the icon "Install firmware to flash", then click on the folder icon and select your image, you want to install. Then you will be asked for the last time, whether you would like to instal the image. Click yes and the update will be startet. You will also receive a status notification on your TV-screen. Installation with DCC (root.cramfs) You need: - a LAN-Cable (possibly a Cross-over-cable für eine PC-Dreambox Direktverbindung) - a recent Gemini-image (to be found at the Database) - the software DCC (to be found at the Database) Manual method Rename the "blabla.img" to "root.cramfs and copy via FTP to /tmp. Then start update manually via settings menu. Installation with Dreamup Lan 1.20 You need: a LAN-Cable (possibly a Cross-over-cable für eine PC-Dreambox Direktverbindung) a recent Gemini-image (to be found at the Database) the software DreamupLan 1.20 (to be found at the Database) Instructions: connect the Dreambox switched on with your PC, start the software and enter the IP of the Dream Click for "safe mode" Click "Send login" Click "Send passwort" Click "Send file" Select the unzipped image (ending .img) Click "delete" and for th process to be finished Click "flash box" and confirm with "OK" Don't switch of the box!!! Process takes 1-2 minutes Only proceed with 11. when the "Congratulations" info pops up. Else, keep box switched on, close programm and start with 1. again. Click "log off" Click "end" Switch off box Do a flasherase (Switch on box, as soon as something is shown at the display push the up-button for 30 seconds) Set up basic settings, finished Installation on external memory devices There is the possibility to install the image on a mounted HDD.
