Introduction for absolute beginners (Newbies)

The operating System The Operating System of your Dreambox is a specially adapted Linux system. The Linux system has been compiled to run on your hardware and contain the device drivers and additional software required for Satellite Cable and Terrestrial digital television reception and viewing. It is based on the OpenEmbeded Project. In addition to the Image, installed on the Dreambox, there are other Images availble. In the following link to the I Have A Dreambox Board, the correct Gemini Image for your hardware is listed and linked to: Gemini The Gemini Image Dieses Image hat neben den originalen Features zusätzliche Inhalte, die über das sogenannte Blue Panel erreichbar sind. Dies ist einfach die blaue Taste der Fernbedienung, die diese Funktionen aufrufen. Um diese Funktionen richtig nutzen zu können sollte ein Internetanschluss an der Box vorhanden sein. Mittels des BP kann man Geräte konfigurieren, Festplattenaktionen durchführen, Cams installieren, Zusatzfunktionen wie z.b. ein Jukebox, Dreamnetcast für Internetradio, Webcamviewer usw nutzen oder auch um grundlegende Einstellungen bequem zu erledigen.
