Enigma 2 was introduced with the Dreambox 7025, which provide two tuners. It also supports the HDTV-functions of the newest dreamboxes. Enigma 2 therefore is the new operating system of the Dreamboxes, which is continuosly development.
It is used at the following boxtypes:
- Dreambox 7025(+)
- Dreambox 500HD
- Dreambox 800(se)
- Dreambox 8000
- Dreambox 7020HD
It was assumingly too much work for the developers to implement all the improvement into Enigma 1.
Due to the redesign of the system, Addons of Enigma 1 couldn't be used in Enigma 2 and had to be rewritten by the particular plugin-authors.
Also the Skins from Enigma 1 and Enigma 2 are not compatible with each other. Links to information about what had be changed at Enigma 2 can be found on the the Technical support site here on this wiki.
