Installation

The Gemini Project 3 is installed in an OE image in only 2 steps.

  1. Manual installation of the Gemini3 Wizard. The Wizard is already included in our own iCVS images (OE 1.6). So you may skip this step.
  2. Execution of the Gemini3 Wizard.


Image recommendation

An original image from http://dreamboxupdate.com based on OE 1.6 or OE 2.0. Or take our iCVS image from the database which is based on OE 1.6. Flash instructions can be found in this article.


Requirements

  • No pre-installed soft-cams.
  • No plugin that provide a quickbutton functionality.
  • A working internet connection
  • Image revision must be at least 3.2.1 except DM7025(+).
  • A flash memory expansion such as FlashExpander, Media-Boot, Dumbo, etc. for boxes with small flash memory like DM7025(+).


Installation of GP3

In iCVS images the Gemini3 Wizard is already preinstalled. You may skip the installation and go on with step GP3 plugin installation. On all other images you must first install the Gemini3 Wizard. The following descriptions shows different possibilities for the wizard installation.

Wizard installation

Via Webinterface (preferred)

  1. Download Gemini3 Wizard - Download of Gemini3 Wizard (g3wizard).
  2. Copy Gemini3 Wizard via FTP into the root directory /.
  3. Install Gemini3 Wizard with Menu ➤ Settings ➤ Software ➤ Local Extensions... ➤ Internal Flash ➤ Install ➤ [green] button.
  4. Restart Enigma 2. This menu item is only available with enabled Expert mode. In case of advanced mode restart the box.


Via Telnet

Connect via Telnet to the box and enter following command. 

opkg install http://download.blue-panel.com/gemini3/g3_wizard

Restart Enigma 2 after the installation or reboot the box. This menu item Restart Enigma 2 is only available with enabled Expert mode


GP3 plugin installation

The installation is on all images the same. Open the Gemini3 Wizard with [blue] ➤ [Gemini3 Wizard] and select Install Gemini plugin. The installation is without any Gemini extensions. Install them later via the Addons menu from Blue Panel. After the installation the box restart automatically.

The GP3 Blue Panel should now be accessible by pressing the [blue] button.
