Why are there so less onlineupdates for Gemini?
There are some reasons why we release Gemini images mostly complete:
- there are not often important changes which should be updatet and its always work to do.
- entering the Gemini Extensions into the CVS is not that simple.
- evereything we release for the boxes has to be checked by our betatesters. This takes plenty of time and it's the reason for, why we don't let them test every little thing again and again.

Why am I not able to install newer Geminis on my Dreambox?
In newer images, Dream-Multimedia created a "Clone-Protection". This may cause, that newe images can't be installed or the boxes get useless. If it appers at an "Original Dreambox", Dream-Multimedia will help you for sure, to exclude further bugs.

why do i get no help from the "Gemini-Team" to keine Hilfe circumvent the copy protection?
Because we are a Dreambox-Board and supporting users, who have bought an Original Dreambox. The Gemini Images are made for Original Dreamboxes and also are thought for them. Weil wir ein Dreamboxforum sind und Unterstützen die User die sich Originale Dreamboxen gekauft haben, die Gemini-Images werden für originale Dreamboxen erstellt und dafür sind diese auch gedacht. Wir sind gegen "Kloneboxen" sobald diese versucht werden mit einer Software zu betreiben die nicht für diese Boxen entwickelt wurde. Diese User sollten sich an dem Hersteller Ihrer Box wenden und dort eine geeignete Software die auch für die Box selbst entwicklet wurden nachfragen.

Warum hat die Dreambox kein HDMI Ausgang?
Um Gottes willen, wer dies ernsthaft fragt weiß nicht was er redet, oder arbeitet für die Filmindustrie! HDMI wurde von der Industrie zielgerichtet für den Bereich der privat genutzten Unterhaltungselektronik eingeführt. Man fürchtete nämlich, dass jeder Kopierschutz über kurz oder lang überwunden werden könnte daher wurde direkt einer in diese HDMI-Spezifikation eingebaut. Wer will den Freiwillig einen Kopierschutz in seiner Dreambox?

Telnet (Telecommunication Network) ist der Name eines weit verbreiteten Netzwerkprotokolls.

Wie ändere ich Dateirechte einer Datei auf der Dreambox?
Mit dem Befehl chmod [Dateiname] [Rechte] kann ich Dateirechte ändern.
Beispiel: chmod blub 755
Damit wird die Datei blub für den Benutzer ausführbar gemacht.
